Support for DC Statehood Grows to Record Levels

Washington DC—Today, DC Vote released the results of national polling on DC Statehood showing record levels of support for the effort to make Washington, DC the 51st State. Read the report here.
“In the last twelve months, America has learned more about the 706,000 teachers and custodians, fire-fighters and nurses – the everyday Americans who call Washington, DC home. As America discovers that we are deprived of full representation in Congress, they are realizing that Statehood is the only answer that treats all American citizens fairly and as equals,” said Bo Shuff, Executive Director. “America sees right through the petty attacks from the opponents of Statehood, and when they the hear both sides of the argument, a clear majority support a new state.”
Lake Research Partners designed these questions as part of a nationwide omnibus survey, which was conducted online between August 10th and 14th. The survey reached 940 voters and has a margin of error of +/-3.2%.
